WARM ARGON PLASMA (FAP)

Rejuvenate, Resurface and Renew

Warm Argon Plasma (FAP) uses focused argon gas plasma to resurface and rejuvenate the skin at a cellular level.
It targets texture, tone and pigmentation while encouraging deep collagen renewal for noticeably smoother, firmer skin.

Collagen Stimulation and Skin Rejuvenation

Warm Argon Plasma (FAP) is an advanced resurfacing procedure that bridges the gap between gentle rejuvenation and corrective skin renewal.

Using a high-energy argon plasma arc, it creates controlled micro-injury in the outer layers of the skin to lift away damaged cells and trigger fibroblast activity within the dermis.

This process rebuilds collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid from within, supporting stronger, more radiant skin over time.

At North Skin, we tailor every treatment by intensity, from full resurfacing with the Warm Argon Plasma handpiece to gentle, non-ablative rejuvenation with the Diamond Plasma Tip.

Warm Argon Plasma (FAP)

Apply a topical numbing cream at home one hour before your appointment.
Your practitioner will provide detailed pre-care instructions following your consultation.
Avoid direct sun exposure, solariums, tanning products and any active skincare such as retinoids, AHAs or BHAs for at least five days.
Pause any in-clinic exfoliating or resurfacing treatments for two weeks prior.
Arrive with clean skin, free from makeup or SPF.
If you’ve had recent injectables or surgery, please check with your practitioner before booking.

Your practitioner will confirm comfort and apply a numbing top-up before beginning.
The Warm Argon handpiece delivers a focused plasma arc that gently ablates the skin’s surface while stimulating the deeper dermal layers to trigger collagen and elastin production.
You may feel warmth, mild tingling or light pinpricks as the energy activates.
Treatment time varies between 30 and 60 minutes depending on the area.

The skin will feel warm and tight, similar to a moderate sunburn.
Mild redness and swelling are common within the first day, followed by fine scabbing or flaking after 2–4 days.
Do not pick or exfoliate the skin during healing.
Avoid makeup, heat and direct sun exposure until the area has settled.
An aftercare kit will be provided to support recovery.

Visible downtime lasts around 7–10 days as the micro-crusts naturally shed.
Hydration, gentle skincare and SPF protection are essential during this time.
Collagen continues to rebuild over the following 8–12 weeks, improving firmness and tone.

Once healed, the skin appears smoother, clearer and more refined, with ongoing improvement in elasticity and texture.

Warm Plasma Therapy FAQs

Warm Plasma uses Argon plasma energy to gently heat the skin, stimulating new collagen and elastin. It improves pigmentation, fine lines, texture and radiance with minimal downtime. Diamond tips can also be used for targeted resurfacing of pores, scars and stretch marks.

No. PlasmaPen fibroblasting creates small arcs on the skin that leave visible carbon crusts and result in lifting and tightening. Warm Plasma is a gentler therapy — it focuses on rejuvenation, pigmentation and collagen stimulation without crusting or extended downtime.

Most clients experience only mild redness, warmth or dryness for 1–3 days. Some may notice light flaking as the skin renews. Makeup and normal activities can usually resume the next day.

Most clients see improvement after just one treatment. For more noticeable results, a course of 3–6 sessions is recommended. This supports long-term collagen stimulation and pigment correction.

Warm Plasma is versatile and can be used on the face, neck, chest, hands and targeted concerns such as scars, pores and stretch marks.

You may not be able to have Plasma therapy if you:

  • Are pregnant or breastfeeding

  • Have active skin infections, open wounds, or sunburn in the treatment area

  • Are undergoing chemotherapy or radiation therapy

  • Have uncontrolled diabetes or impaired wound healing

  • Have a history of keloid scarring

  • Have a pacemaker or certain implanted medical devices

  • Have used isotretinoin (Roaccutane) within the past 6–12 months

  • Have had recent injectables, surgery, or other resurfacing procedures in the same area (your practitioner will guide safe timing)

No numbing is required. Most people describe the sensation as a gentle warmth or tingling, similar to a warm facial. It is very well tolerated.

Yes, it is safe and non-invasive, though not suitable for everyone. It should be avoided if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have active skin infections or sunburn, have used isotretinoin (Roaccutane) in the last 6–12 months, have a history of keloid scarring, or are undergoing chemotherapy or radiation therapy. Your suitability will always be assessed at consultation.

Results build progressively as collagen develops over 6–12 weeks. With a course of treatments and ongoing maintenance, many clients enjoy results that last several months. Protecting your skin with good home care and SPF will extend results further.

Yes. Warm Plasma pairs well with other skin therapies such as PlasmaPen fibroblasting, cosmetic acupuncture or skin needling. Cold Plasma can also be scheduled between Warm Plasma sessions to calm inflammation and support healing.

Cold Plasma (CAP & Ozone) is a calming therapy designed to reduce acne bacteria, soothe redness, balance the scalp and support barrier health, with no downtime.

Warm Plasma (Argon & Diamond) is a rejuvenating therapy that stimulates collagen, brightens pigmentation and improves skin firmness and texture, with minimal downtime.
