Advanced plasma skin treatment general FAQ's
Advanced Plasma treatments use innovative plasma energy to rejuvenate the skin, calm inflammation and deliver active ingredients deeper. At North Skin, we use Fusion8 technology which combines Cold Atmospheric Plasma (CAP), Ozone Plasma and Argon Plasma for targeted results.
Plasma therapies can address acne, rosacea, redness, fine lines, pigmentation, scarring, uneven texture, enlarged pores, fungal nails and even scalp issues such as dandruff or folliculitis.
Downtime depends on the modality. Cold Plasma has little to no downtime, while Warm Argon Plasma may cause mild redness or dryness for a few days. Infusion therapies typically leave the skin flushed but settle quickly.
Most clients notice improvement after just one treatment, however for more transformative results, a series of 3–6 sessions is usually recommended. This approach supports long-term skin strengthening, scar repair and pigmentation correction, while building results that last.

Yes, when performed by trained practitioners. Plasma is non-invasive and suitable for most skin types, however there are some circumstances where treatment is not recommended. Your suitability will always be assessed at consultation.
You may not be able to have Plasma therapy if you:
Are pregnant or breastfeeding
Have active skin infections, open wounds, or sunburn in the treatment area
Are undergoing chemotherapy or radiation therapy
Have uncontrolled diabetes or impaired wound healing
Have a history of keloid scarring
Have a pacemaker or certain implanted medical devices
Have used isotretinoin (Roaccutane) within the past 6–12 months
Have had recent injectables, surgery, or other resurfacing procedures in the same area (your practitioner will guide safe timing)
Absolutely. Plasma therapies are often combined with Plasma fibroblast (PlasmaPen), or cosmetic acupuncture for enhanced outcomes. Cold Plasma can also be used to support healing after more intensive treatments.
Most people find Cold Plasma comfortable, with a tingling or warm sensation. Warm Plasma may feel slightly more stimulating but is generally well tolerated. Infusion therapies feel similar to a light rolling or stamping.
You may notice immediate improvements in clarity and brightness, with collagen-stimulating benefits continuing to build over 6–12 weeks. With proper skin care, results can last months, and maintenance sessions will extend them further.
Yes. Cold and Ozone Plasma can help balance the scalp, reduce dandruff, folliculitis and support hair restoration programs. Plasma can also be applied to areas like the chest, hands or back to address pigmentation, scarring and stretch marks.
Plasma Fibroblast (PlasmaPen) is a non-surgical skin tightening treatment. It creates tiny, controlled plasma arcs/abrasions on the skin’s surface, leaving visible carbon crusts that contract the tissue and stimulate collagen. This makes it ideal for lifting eyelids, tightening wrinkles and treating sagging skin, with results that can last years.Â
Warm Plasma (Argon), on the other hand, is a gentler rejuvenation treatment. It uses thermal plasma energy to stimulate new collagen, brighten pigmentation and refine texture, without creating crusts or the same level of downtime. Results are more subtle and typically require a course of treatments for best outcomes.
PlasmaPen = lifting, tightening, big changes, downtime.
Warm Plasma = rejuvenation, brightening, low downtime.
Cold Plasma (CAP & Ozone) is a healing and calming therapy. It targets acne bacteria, reduces inflammation, soothes rosacea and supports scalp or nail health. Cold Plasma is comfortable, non-ablative and has little to no downtime.
Warm Plasma (Argon) is a rejuvenating therapy. It focuses on collagen stimulation, pigmentation correction and improving skin firmness and texture. Warm Plasma may cause mild redness or dryness for a few days, but delivers deeper long-term rejuvenation.
Cold Plasma = calming, clarifying, barrier support, no downtime.
Warm Plasma = rejuvenation, collagen stimulation, brightening, low downtime.
